Ground Zero Airsoft
The South’s Premiere Skirmish Site ...

Question Corner

Q.    How old do you have to be to play Airsoft at your site?

  1. A.   14 years old to play without adult supervision. 12 and 13 year olds can play, but they must

be with an adult at all times.

We’ll add to these as they crop up...

Q.    What forms do I need to bring?

  1. A.   For playing purposes, we have Parental Consent Form (for under

18s) and an Equipment Rental Form (for anyone who wants to

rent ANY piece of kit from us).

Q.    Do we need to book to attend your site?

  1. A.   At woodland you only need to book if you require a hire gun to use on the day. People who own their own weapons can just turn up and play.

Q.    Can I bring a dog?

  1. A.   They are discouraged for several reasons - not least of which being

that we can not supervise them whilst you are in the game zone

and can’t have a whole pack of dogs roaming the car park!

Q.    I have never been to your site before. What should I do when I first arrive?

  1. A.   Go to the paying in desk where they will stamp your hand and give you receipts for any

kit or gun hire you have paid for. If you have a gun or clothing receipt then take it to the

green trailer where your kit will be issued.

Q.    What time should I arrive?

  1. A.   Around 0915hrs if you are renting a gun or clothing from us.

Q.    I am not renting, what is the latest I can arrive?

  1. A.   Any time you wish! By arriving at 1100 hrs all that happens is you lose a part of your days

play, although we aim to call people together for our safety brief as 1000 hrs and would

prefer you suited and booted by this time if possible.

Q.    Do you do half day rates?

  1. A.   No, unfortunately we don't.

Q.    What are the FPS limits?

  1. A.   They are 350fps for AEGs, 425fps for semi-auto guns which must be physically locked to

single shot, and 500fps for bolt action rifles. Anything over 350fps has a 30 meter minimum

engagement rule. These velocities are measured with a 0.2g bb.

  1. Q.   Is there someone who can talk me through the day as I am

unsure how to act, what to expect and how the guns work?

  1. A.   Yes, when collecting your gun (if you are renting) or at the

paying in desk, mention it to the people in charge of that area

and they will call over one of our extremely helpful marshals so

they can answer any questions and explain what will happen

        next.

  1. Q.   I have never been before and am a little intimidated about coming down for my first

game. Will I look out of place?

  1. A.   If you mean will people know you are new to it, then the answer will probably be yes, but

there is no “looking down” on new players and the site is extremely friendly. People of all

experience levels, skin colours, religions, ages and aptitudes play together with no

prejudice at all. Everyone who comes to the site does so to enjoy their game, not to bitch

about others. This is not online gaming!!

Q.    Other than eye protection, what gear do I need?

  1. A.   Ground Zero recommends full face protection to be warn

at all times on the field.

We recommend over the ankle boots as the terrain can be loose

        or slippery underfoot.

We strongly advise wearing suitable gloves.

Q.    My children are only 14 years old; will they be safe on site?

  1. A.   We have experienced marshals plus a whole load of responsible regulars who would look

out for problems on the field whilst playing and physical and verbal abuse is not tolerated

in any way, shape or form. We have been running for 9 years now, and have never had a

complaint from any person under 18 that they have been ill treated.

Q.    Do you do private parties or corporate bookings?

  1. A.   Yes, we do. Please email [email protected] to

        request details.

Q.    Is there an on-site shop and what does it sell?

  1. A.   There is a shop at our Woodland site run by Zero One Airsoft. They sell a range of goods from

BB’s to Dot Sights and AEG’s (guns). However, should you need something specific, to

ensure they have it, we always suggest people pre-order and ask for it to be delivered to the

game, so they can collect it. This saves disappointment on the day.

  1. Q.  Can I come down and take a look around during one of your

       game days?

  1. A.   Yes, you can be escorted around the site by one of our friendly

marshals, if they are not all busy, so that you can see what we

do. You can also take a look at the guns we have spare after the

rentals have been collected to get an idea of how they feel and

        look!

  1. Q.   How does the day work?

  1. A. There will be a printed game plan for all players to collect at the

sign in desk! take one and it will tell you what is happening, at

what times around the site. At the start of each day, the players

are split into 2 or 3 equally sized teams and assigned a team

commander (normally a player marshal) and he will move his

troops off to their starting point before addressing them all as to

the plans for the day. there are no stop start games at woodland,

instead the whole playing field becomes a war zone for the day,

and players come and go from it as they please. When shot, you

go to a dead zone, complete the amount of time stated in your

game plan for dead players (it changes with different games) and

then you come back into the action. The game ends at 1700hrs in

the summer, and 1600hrs in the winter (due to bad light).
